One of the most popular activities on the run up to Halloween is pumpkin picking. There is something extra special about getting to choose and carve your own pumpkin with your little one. You can choose from a variety of different colour and sizes of pumpkins. 1. Piglets Adventure Farm Kent

Over in Kent, Piglets Adventure Farm as heaps of things going on for the whole family to enjoy. Throughout the month of October you can get creative and carve some bright pumpkins (spookiest/funniest wins a prize). You can also meet some furry friends whilst at the farm (e.g. piglets, cows, baby chicks, guinea pigs and so much more). You can also enjoy some delicious food whilst visiting.

2. Arnprior Farm, Scotland 

Arnprior Farm (also home to an eco friendly/luxury glamping pod campsite). The farm has over 15,000 different types of pumpkins to choose from. They have everything from ginormous cinderella pumpkins, spooky looking green warty pumpkins, magical white pumpkins and even funky striped pumpkins. Your little one will sure have a fun day out here. Whilst picking your spooky looking pumpkins you can also pick some tatties and make a delicious potato pie.

3. Pumpkin Maze at Pye Ash Farm (Macclesfield)

This will sure be an exciting and fun day out for the whole family to enjoy. Enjoy getting lost in the twisty maze and whilst you try and find your way out of the maze, be sure to choose some spooky looking pumpkins ready to be carved by your little ones creative hands. There are also lots of animals to see at the farm such as sheepdog demonstrations and watching cows being milked. The little ones can also enjoy a scrumptious milkshake whilst the parents can also enjoy the finest of ales or a gin. The makes for a perfect day out!

4. Farmer Copley's (Yorkshire) 

A thirty minute drive from Leeds you have Farmer Copley's. This farm has over twenty different types of pumpkins. A favourite to pick, carve and take photos with is the unique all white ghost pumpkin and the spooky all black pumpkin. You can watch demonstrations on how the farmers grow the pumpkins, how to carve a pumpkin and how to utilise your pumpkin once Halloween is over. Farmer Copley's is a fun and knowledgeable day out for the whole family.

5. Garson Farm, Surrey

One of the UK's largest PYO Pumpkin farms is Garson's Farm. With over 20,000 pumpkins and over 20 different types you will sure have an exciting day out with your little one. Garson's is not the only place to go for pumpkins, but whilst you are there you can also pick some delicious fruit and vegetables. A PYO Farm Pass must be booked ahead of your visit, but once you're booked and there you can pick until your heart is content and are sure to bring home a mammoth fruit & veg haul along with your pumpkins.
