Hyndburn Business Awards 2021

Good Morning

I hope you are all having a great start to the week and are finding fun things to do with kids during the summer holidays.

I cannot tell you the month I have had, it has been truly amazing. The other week me and my team attended the Hyndburn Business Awards, as we had been nominated for 3 awards (Creative Business, Independent Retailer and Small Business). I cannot actually believe I am writing this, but we won the Small Business Award.

From starting out in my back room, to owning my own premises and managing a small team, to selling personalised children's clothing all over the world. To winning this amazing award. I cannot believe how far Little Secrets Clothing has come. This would not be possible without our amazing customers and my wonderful team. So I personally want to say thank you for your support, custom and hard work.

The night itself

So I attended the event with my wonderful team. The people who have been there from the start and who have worked tirelessly throughout the pandemic and everyday. We have Matt (director) who is my right hand,  then there is Naomi (the manager), she is my wing woman and works damn hard to ensure the business is a success, we then have Joe and Kirsten who are responsible for creating and designing the most unique designs, making your little ones magical outfits come to life. We have Charlie who deals with the digital marketing aspect of the business trying to grow our presence in the world. We also have Jess who works hard to to make, prepare and package your products. Last but not least we have Charlotte who works very hard in dealing with the accounts.

After such a tough year it was fantastic to be able to celebrate the hard work of my team and to be surrounded by so many commendable and outstanding businesses of Hyndburn. The atmosphere was terrific, it was such a great evening and run so smoothly despite restrictions still being in place. It was a pleasure to be surrounded by some amazing people. We did recognise some familiar businesses and faces. Brie_Mine_UK are our locals in Great Harwood and have a delicious Cheese Shop (they create the most beautiful and scrumptious cheese, biscuit and fruit platter). We also saw the girls from Escape at Shelleys they are very talented ladies in nails and treatments. Massive well done to NORI HR and Employment Law who won the Beacon Award. An outstanding Employment Law business that has risen and helped many companies and people especially in hard times during the pandemic.

After our delicious meal, then came the awards. The organiser of the event was Rob and what a terrific job he did in organising everybody safely. When each table was recognised for an award, we had to all stand up at our table and one winner would go and collect the award.

The first award we was nominated for was 'Creative Business' - unfortunately we did not win this one as we was up against some amazing talent. This was won by Feral and Funky Kids who specialise in creating the most unique alternative outfits for children. The next category was 'Independent Business' this won by the amazing Cover my Bubble who deal with Life Insurance for families. A truly remarkable business. Then came the 'Small Business' award, we was up against the most amazing companies so I did not feel very confident. However, Sara Britcliffe (MP for Hyndburn) called Little Secrets Clothing. I could not believe it, we won! I had goosebumps, I had a little cry, I had the biggest smile on my face and hugged my team. Naomi then went to take a picture with our award.

Overall it was a fantastic night surrounded by the most hard working, passionate and nicest people and wow what an achievement for Little Secrets Clothing

Thank you so much for all your support and kind words

Have a lovely weekend guys

Lots of Love

Victoria Robinson
