Elf on the Shelf is a Christmas tradition which involves toy elves being placed around the home during December to keep an eye on whether kids are being naughty or nice.
This year, more than ever, we're all ready for the fun and magic of Christmas, however it can be a challenge for parents to come up with imaginative ideas to play along for every day of the countdown.
We have chosen some of our favourite Elf on the Shelf ideas for you to replicate in your home and surprise your little ones each day as the countdown to Christmas continues!
The Elves on the Shelf are back! And they're taking 2020 COVID-19 quarantine in their stride.
A quick and easy idea is to put your cheeky elves in a jar with a little note explaining to the children that while the elves are isolating Santa and his team of helpers are all healthy and happy!
If you don't have a jar why not try up-cycling an old delivery box? A cheap and easy way to create a 'quarantine area' so that the elves can isolate.
2 Sprinkle Angel
While this idea is super cheap and quick it can be a bit of a messy operation to clean up!
Replace the sprinkles with flour, sugar or even rice to create a snow angel on your kitchen counter!
3 Egg Faces!
We love this idea here at Little Secrets, very quick and easy! Also you can make the designs as personal as you want, you could even leave a message from your cheeky little elf instead of faces!
4 Movie Night
Even your Elf on the Shelf is going to love the movie Frozen! Why not add some popcorn and have a movie day that is filled with lots of snuggles, treats and hot chocolate?
5 Climbing Ribbons
This idea is really going to make your little ones light up when they see their elf being extra cheeky in the morning!
Just peel the backs of the ribbons off and stick them onto the mirror- it's as easy as that! Your elf will be able to hold his arms and hands right in the ribbon holes with ease.
Another super easy and cheap idea!
The elf would love for you to help him build a snowman. This particular snowman is made of toilet paper and has been drawn on with some markers. Another super and easy and quick idea!
7 Sack Race
If your Elf has friends, here's a fun way to let them in on the Christmas mischief: Host a sack race! A great way to get your little one's favourite toys and teddies involved in the Christmas festivities!
8 Bubble Bath
Grab a bag of mini marshmallows or two and pop them in a large bowl to create the illusion of your cheeky little elf taking a bubble bath!
Alternatively, create a snowy scene with your mini marshmallows and a few festive items, baubles are a great idea or little Christmas trees.
9 TP Mischief Elf
Elves fit perfectly into the cardboard tubes that hold toilet paper. Roll them down the stairs, and see what happens!
10 Decorating The Tree
Elves love to help out! Especially when it comes to making your Christmas tree extra festive.
They’ll often wait until everyone’s asleep before adding the finishing touches, so don’t be surprised if your little ones catch them in the act when they wake up!
